Mayor’s Report: Our food reserve situation grows dire. We experienced a massive loss of crops last year even though the weather was favorable. There is less than six months available. We will begin preparing the main part of Barents Island for crop fields, while the periphery is made ready for housing and industry. Evelt Aerts was re-elected to the council without opposition. Kings Jacobs’ seat is up this year. He has said he wants to step down, but no one has yet said they’d like to replace him.
