Growth on Baerents Island |
Mayor’s Report:
Andro Postmael challenged me for mayor. I managed to
retain my seat by one vote. Evelt Aerts was defeated by Danningsley Aerts. The
politics of the town are divided between the ‘old guard’ of most of the
original settlers and their children. Postmael is continuing to build his new
commercial and agricultural hub on the island. A new large house, rivalling
the mayor’s residence, should be completed early in the year.
Malvia Postmael’s seat is up for re-election, but no
one has indicated they will challenge him.
We had another good harvest last year, and we traded
for food to bolster our surplus. We also welcomed three new families to the
town.
Stability in the region continues, with our growth
coinciding with the growth of many settlements in New York.
